Ayana Dey (she/her) is a Ph.D. student at Michigan State University in the Department of English. She has a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Presidency University, Kolkata, India (which is her hometown). Ayana’s perspective is borne of movement and her corresponding research interests are Postcolonial theory and literature, Diaspora Studies and Cultural Studies at large. She wishes to write her dissertation on the affects of migrant workers from South Asia to the UAE within the broader field of Indian Ocean Studies.
