April D. Best (she/her) is a PhD student in the Department of English at Michigan State University. She received her BA in English and French and her B.Ed. from York University. She obtained her MA in Literature from Grand Valley State University. Her master’s thesis, “Geographical, Linguistic, Social, and Experiential Demarcation: The River in Edwidge Danticat’s The Farming of Bones,” was a Distinguished Award Nominee of the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools. Her research interests include contemporary poetry, diaspora and migration literature, transnational feminisms, digital humanities, feminist theory, environmental humanities, ecofeminism, queer and trans ecologies. She recently received the Global Studies Fellowship at Michigan State University.
