Harry M. Foster (He/Him) is a PhD student in the Department of English at Michigan State University. He completed his undergraduate degree in English and Creative Writing at Columbia University and served in for 5 years in the Marines. His research examines expressions and manifestations of cultural heroism across folklore, literature, film, and comics from the 19th century to the present. He is particularly interested in how heroic archetypes perform resistance and survival strategies while navigating systemic oppression. In addition to his academic work, Harry also publishes creative works as a companion to his academic work.
