Faculty Shout-out by Professor Danielle Filipiak:
“Allison whole-heartedly embraced the opportunity to challenge herself when she encountered new ideas and perspectives in our 408 class, doing so with grace, curiosity, and a stance of opennesss. Her final project pushed our community to think deeply about the boundaries of faith and the limits of religious dogma, creating a multi-voiced piece that beautifully integrated her own personal perspective with those captured via online social media posts and commentary. What I began to recognize in Allison across her journey in 408 was a burgeoning cultural worker and thinker, operationalizing her learning about complex ideals into real-world contexts. This is important work in the field of English Education, and she has a sophisticated understanding of this work so early in her career. “
