Advising

Many studies suggest that students who develop a strong relationship with their academic adviser are more successful in their undergraduate years. Academic advisers can provide much more than accurate explanations of university, college, and department policies and the latest on degree requirements. They can help students develop analytical skills, effective study methods, and career plans (before and after graduation).

In addition to one-on-one advising, the academic adviser helps coordinate events beneficial to student development. Whether clarifying how study abroad fits into academic requirements or helping students prepare for graduate or professional schools, academic advisers show students how to get the most out of their English educations.
